• Here are some PPC marketing trends to note for 2023. Our paid search team thinks number 3 is the most important one, since we’ve seen great performance with Bing.

• Another day, (yet) another lawsuit for Meta, Alphabet, and other social media giants. Seattle schools “allege that “misconduct” by the Big Tech firms has been a large factor in the youth mental health crisis. Opinions are split. My question: how a lawsuit can aid in fixing a cultural issue. Stay on top of the news here.

• Econsultancy offers an ICYMI compilation of recent articles with experts’ takes on digital marketing innovation and trends to watch for in 2023. Topics range from Personalization to Search and SEO to Social Advertising and more. Check it out, y’all!

We learned about Lasagna Love from Melissa Latham, who is one of the volunteer chefs. (Another awesome person we learned about through The Connective!) This amazing global nonprofit and grassroots movement aims to positively impact communities by connecting neighbors with neighbors through homemade meal delivery. They also seek to eliminate stigmas associated with asking for help when it is needed most. Their mission is simple: feed families, spread kindness, and strengthen communities. There are lots of ways to help, we made a cash donation but perhaps you can volunteer as a chef, a la Melissa.

• Meta is merging content moderation teams for ad content and central integrity. What this means for you:
  • Business and everyday users will receive the same customer support treatment.
  • Meta will hold both everyday and business users to the same content standards.

• Google has updated YMYL (your money or your life) guidelines for websites. In short, they want to ensure websites are providing trustworthy and reputable content to help users quickly get to relevant content when it comes to these topics. This aligns with the “helpful content” algorithm update recently implemented as well as E-A-T (expertise-authoritative-trust) signals Google likes to see. 👍
